"Created in 2008 by veteran actor/musicians Debra Buonaccorsi and Steve McWilliams, Dizzy Miss Lizzie's Roadside Revue bridges the gap between theatre and rock and roll; a fusion of contemporary music, drama and classic literature- adding depth and dimension to each artistic genre. With a core group of actors and musicians, they have turned their attention to adapting literary greats into raucous, engaging, utterly modern tales. They have been a fixture at Capital Fringe, and have performed at other venues and festivals throughout the area.
With influences ranging from bluegrass to vaudeville, from The Beatles to The Decemberists, from theatre to burlesque, they draw their inspiration from all manners of art and music. Interactive and inter-genre, subversive and beautiful, Dizzy Miss Lizzie's Roadside Revue approaches their work as an opportunity to innovate, to connect, and to entertain on all levels" 29th Annual Helen Hayes Awards program, 2013
" ...the scrappy DC merrymakers of Dizzy Miss Lizzie's Roadside unveiled "The Brontes" their saucy, raucous, and witty rock concert-as-literary-satire.... One can only hope that their talents will be supported by larger institutions, for more shows and longer runs" Peter Marks, The Washington Post, 12/9/12

Saints, sinners, sex, drugs and rock and roll. Imagine Johnny Cash, Janis Joplin, St. Augustine, and a bevy of virgin martyrs singing songs around a celestial campfire. Virtue and vaudeville, burlesque and the blessed; DMLRR's The Saints, where the revival tent meets the carnival tent.
A post-apocalyptic, raucous, rock and roll retelling of the Irish legend: Finn McCool. Complete with a brave hero, a bad ass fairy, a one-eyed henchman, Druids and a drinking song.
If the ancient Greek playwright, Aeschylus, had gone on your with Led Zeppelin, Woody Guthrie, and a carnie troupe, this is what he would have written. A tale of blood, guts, and vengeance, Aeschylus' Oresteia, recharged.
2009 Capital Fringe, "Saints" Jordan Klein as St. Francis.
